Abstract
An expert system is a methodology for adapting an algorithm for successful solutions from one area of scientific and practical activity to another. With the widespread dissemination of information technology, it is an identical intelligent computer program that contains the knowledge and analytical skills of one or more experts in the field of application and is able to draw logical conclusions based on this knowledge, thereby providing solutions to specific problems in the design of technological equipment without the presence of an expert (specialist in specific problem area). An expert system allows to solve problems in a specialized subject area. Contemporary realities of the introduction of automated production do not provide a high-quality result, because all design decisions are made on the basis of subjective knowledge and intuitive feelings. One way to solve this problem is to develop formalized man-machine design methods at the early stages of creating a technological equipment project.
This study describes the development process of an expert system, whose task is to solve problems of product modeling, optimization synthesis of the structure of a technological operation and the layout of a technological machine. In the study, the author identifies the stages of designing technological equipment, identifies the components of an expert system and a procedural model of the design process. The result of the work is the developed structure of software and information management of an automated information system for the design of technological equipment. The developed system will accelerate the process of decision-making in the design of technological equipment and receiving expert advice. The expert system will serve as the basis for the introduction of intellectual production and reasonable consumption, which is confidently marching along with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Keywords: expert system, product modeling, information system, technological equipment, procedural model.
